Post Lipofilling (Fat Grafting) Treatment
After lipofilling (fat grafting) treatment, swelling, bruising, or numbness may occur in the area where fat injections are administered. Lipofilling involves injecting fat from specific areas of the body into the desired area after special processing, and it should be performed in reputable healthcare centers. It is a cosmetic procedure that provides permanent and successful results, so it is important for it to be carried out by experts. Swelling, bruising, or numbness typically subside on their own within 7-10 days after the operation. Approximately half of the injected fat is absorbed by the body within the first 6 months, while the remaining fat becomes permanent. The technique used for fat extraction and the surgical materials used in the transfer play a significant role in maintaining the viability of the fat tissue.
Patients should discontinue the use of blood thinners 10 days before the operation and should take the medications prescribed by the doctor regularly after the operation.
Cold compresses are recommended to reduce swelling.
There is no harm in washing the area where fat is injected one day after the operation.
Moisturizer can be used, and the treated area can be relieved with gentle massage.
Avoiding excessive heat and steam is important.
